Once upon a time in a land far away...

How many of you remember listening to stories at family or holiday gatherings? If you are like me, the younger you were the more interesting the stories...the first time or second time you heard them!  Life has a a way of distracting us. Priorities change, interests change and suddenly you realize the story tellers of the family aren't telling!

The living room or warm busy kitchen has been replaced. Now families compete for time on the computer. In many cases, each person has a cell phone in their pocket and their own computer and TV in the bedroom. How do we stay connected? If you have a computer in YOUR home, and the family comes to visit, just TRY to keep the grandkids off it and in the living room with the rest of the family! Or, meet the family half way and do a little computer stuff yourself!

  • Write your stories and have them on a website
  • Burn a CD and send it out with your Christmas cards
  • Email the grand-kids

Bounce around this website and see what fun you can have reading the stories from others. If you can get your story to me, I'll post it on this website (free) and you can tell your family that you are "published on the web." Can you imagine the look on their faces if you were to send them an email telling them to check you out on the internet? You just may find it worth the effort!

Have fun!

A lot of you may have been writing your stories the good old fashioned way ... pen on paper. If you have a family member or friend who types really well, and is used to using Microsoft Word, you can ask them to put it all in electronic format. Or, this may give you the incentive you have needed to finally take the plunge and learn computers yourself! I would LOVE to see more people using computers.
